After graduating second in his class from the United States Marine Corps culinary school, Dan was stationed at Camp LeJeune, NC, in food service for four years and competed in many local and regional food competitions. After leaving the Marine Corps, Dan came back to Wisconsin and began working in many fine dining restaurants including the Milwaukee Athletic Club, Silver Spring Country Club, and Hugo’s Steakhouse. In 2007, Dan took a position with Morrison Senior Living (sister company of Flik) as an Executive Chef and later becoming a Regional Executive Chef and traveling the country, giving support and assistance to other Senior Living accounts. Dan made the transition to Flik in August 2015.

Chef Jeff King is now the Executive Chef for Flik Independent School Dining at the University School Milwaukee. A native of Wisconsin, Chef Jeff was born in Waukesha and moved to Milwaukee many years ago. After completing a three-year apprentice at the Elm Grove Inn, Jeff pursued a formal degree in the culinary arts. He graduated, with honors, from the Culinary Institute of America in 2004 and continued his education with an externship at the Ritz Carlton, Naples. He has a wide variety of culinary experience working in a number of restaurants, hotels and city clubs. Most recently, he opened the Beloit Club, a private country club located in Beloit, WI. Striving for more work and life balance, Chef Jeff decided to pursue a career working with Compass. When a position became available at Flik Independent School Dining, he jumped at the opportunity to use his culinary creativity to create fun and balanced meals for kids and staff alike. Chef Jeff is excited about his new role at the University School Milwaukee and hopes to make a positive impact in all areas. In his free time, Chef Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and enjoys a number of outdoors activities, including: camping, hiking, golfing and gardening.
